The Emerald City Swing Orchestra is a 17 piece jazz/swing band comprised of saxophones, trombones, trumpets, and a rhythm section.

The Emerald City Swing Orchestra is a 17-piece swing/jazz band that formed in 2001 and has now joined the Dublin Community Bands organization.

The Emerald City Swing Orchestra has an extensive musical library that features classic songs of the era of the Big Bands, such as Glenn Miller, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington;
contemporary artists such as Billy Joel and Carlos Santana; and vocal songs of classic singers like Frank Sinatra, Billy Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald.

The performing members include several Dublin City Schools music teachers.

The Emerald City Swing Orchestra was featured on stage in a Dublin community theater musical production called The 1940’s Radio Hour in 2002.

The Swing Orchestra has also performed at charity fundraising events and outdoormusic festivals, including the Dublin Arts Festival, and was selected to perform at the 20th-year anniversary celebration concert of the Dublin “Sundays at Scioto” summer music concert series.

They have presented numerous concerts and variety shows in the Abbey Theatre at the Dublin Community Recreation Center and have hosted a series of public dances in Dublin as well as performing at private dances and parties.

Additionally, the Swing Orchestra has performed with student bands at Dublin high schools and middle schools.
