Brass and Percussion Day!

DYBB's Brass and Percussion Day is held every fall/early winter as a day to let kids experience what it's like to play in a youth brass band. We bring in clinicians to work with the kids and rehearse two short songs to perform for families and friends in a workshop performance. This event is free and information is available usually by mid-September.

DYBB Winter/Spring Session

The Dublin Youth Brass Band winter/spring session is the main event! Our DYBB Green Band (conducted by Becky Bloomer) is new for 2027 and is for kids who have played brass or percussion for 1/2 a year through three years. It rehearses from 4:30-5:30 on Sunday afternoons January through March. The Green Band plays at the Dublin Brass Band Showcase and receives adjudicator comments at the Dublin Festival of Brass. The suggested fee for the green band is $75.

The Dublin Youth Brass Band (conducted by Amy Schumaker Bliss) is for high schoolers and advanced 8th graders. It rehearses from 6:00-8:00 pm on Sundays from January through April. This band performs at the Dublin Brass Band Showcase and it competes at the Dublin Festival of Brass and the National Brass Band Association Championships. The suggested fee for this ensemble is $150.

DYBB Summer Session

The summer session is fun and relaxed. Our coaches play from within the ensemble the whole time, including the performance. We have four rehearsals and then perform at the Ohio Brass Arts Festival. Our 2026 rehearsal dates are:
June 16, 19, 23, and 26 with a performance in the mid- to late-afternoon on June 28th.

We aim to be an inclusive ensemble -  if you can't afford the full fee or have multiple kids in the band, feel free to use the "other" option to enter an amount that works better for you.
